Mission

The Honey Bee Awareness Project upholds the principle that we are all keepers of the bees.  Our mission is to create a more bee friendly world through bee education based on current scientific research and grounded in biological, ecological and economic success (BEES).  This project started with a fascination for honey bees but quickly grew into an exploitation of our native bees and the ecology of pollination.

HBAP calls Western Washington home nestled between the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound in the Nooksack and Skagit River valleys. Both locally and world-wide, pollinator numbers have declined in recent years leaving some species extinct or at threshold levels.  But, through careful planning, education, and a consorted action, we can work together to take care of those that take care of us.
